How does the RUDOLF A.I.M.
harmonic conditioner work?
A proven technology is
now available to isolate harmonic currents and thereby
protect equipment on your power distribution system from
disruption and damage due to harmonic currents and
associated voltage distortion.
The patented RUDOLF A.l.M.
(Active Injection Mode) harmonic conditioner,
continuously monitors the non-linear current demanded by
the load, and electronically generates an ADAPTIVE
current waveform which matches the shape of the
non-linear portion on the Load current.
The RUDOLF A.I.M.
harmonic conditioner injects this matching current into
the Load, mitigating the problematic harmonic currents
at the point of connection.
Utilising this patented
method of cancellation, the RUDOLF A.I.M. active
harmonic conditioner provides a level of attenuation of
harmonic currents not previously realisable.
The RUDOLF A.I.M’s IGBT
PWM converter bridge reacts in micro-seconds to changes
in non-linear load current providing the correct level
of harmonic cancellation even as the frequency
components change.
The RUDOLF A.I.M.
conditioner is not affected by changes of impedance
within the power system nor will it react with other
devices. The RUDOLF A.I.M. is inherently non-resonating
and it will not adversely affect the resonant points in
the power system.
The RUDOLF AIM.
conditioner has no series components and is simply
connected in parallel across individual or a number of
non-linear loads.
The RUDOLF A.I.M. active
harmonic conditioner has onboard circuitry to permit
paralleling and load sharing of multiple RUDOLF A.I.M.
units. For applications requiring harmonic cancellation
current’ above 100A, fully engineered pre
System Benefits
• Adaptive Injection Mode
The RUDOLF A.I.M. conditioner continuously monitors
the load harmonic current and reduces the total current
distortion in most cases to below 5%.
• High Performance Cancellation
Non-Linear harmonic current cancellation from 2nd to
50th harmonic. Reduced line notching (the RUDOLF AIM.
conditioner significantly reduces line notching’
caused by thyristor switching and other load generated
transients.)
• Ease Of Connection
With no series components the RUDOLF A.I.M.
conditioner can be quickly and easily installed in
parallel with the nonlinear load(s). Load current
measurement is via current transformers.
• Electronic Var Current
In addition to harmonic cancellation current the
RUDOLF A.I.M. conditioner electronically produces
leading VAR current, improving the system power factor
without the negative effects of capacitors.
• Harmonic Standards
Suitably rated RUDOLF AIM. conditioners guarantee
compliance with ER G5/3 (1976), EN 61000, EN 60555, IEEE
519 (1992) and other harmonic standards under any
load conditions.
• Current Limit
The RUDOLF AIM. conditioner is current limited and
can function with any non-linear load without damage,
regardless of the magnitude of the harmonic current.
• Approved
The high quality RUDOLF A.I.M. conditioner complies
with European EMC and LV directives and are approved by
both
UL and CSA. Rigorous testing ensures that superior
performance, safety and reliability standards are
adhered to.
