Construction

Driving Element

The current and potential cores are made of high quality laminated silicon steel of superior magnetic characteristics, and the cores have rustproof treatment.

To improve the load characteristic and voltage characteristic, current and voltage cores have been made separately.

The wires of the current and voltage coils are thoroughly insulated to achieve a high dielectric strength. Quality packing of voltage coil enable well protection against humidity.

Register

The registers are each secured to the meter frame by means of two-screws or of guide plate with stops.

A guide plate with stops enables each register to be removed and replaced very easy.

Registers are durable for wide temperature range and the figures are easy to be read.

Uni-directional register can be adopted in the meter for anti-tamper purpose.

 

Bearing

Upper bearing consists of a non-lubricated bearing bush and non- corrosive stainless steel guide pin.

Lower bearing in the meter can be of double jewel or magnetic one.

1) Double-jewel lower bearing is the service-proved design fitted to all the watt-hour meters. The active parts comprise a highly polished steel ball set between two jewels of sapphire, which is enclosed in a dust-proof housing. This guarantee excellent friction-free characteristics for a long service even when it is used under dusty and different condition.

2) Magnetic type lower bearing
Magnetic lower bearing is of the repulsion type between upper and lower magnets. The magnets are homopolar magnetized and therefore repel each other, thus the rotor floats freely on a magnetic cushion and the rotating assembly is friction free.

And a special manufacturing process of permanent magnet guarantees high stability of the magnetic force. This results in long, maintenance-free service life to the meter.

 

Meter Rotor

The rotor spindle is made of phosphor-bronze alloy or aluminum alloy, and the two discs are fixed to the spindle by means of special die-casting process.

Disc is made of high purity aluminum sheet and the rated driving tongue is sufficient to cover the wide load range.

Brake Magnet

The two of double pole type brake magnets are housed in aluminum alloy by die cast.

The magnets are made of AlNiCo V with high corrective force and high residual induction to assure excellent performance during the whole service life.

A special metal part acting as a magnetic shunt to compensate the error due to temperature variation with range of -10° C ~ +50° C.
