True Sinewave Inverter Info
A True Sinewave
Inverter produces the same or better energy than a grid
power supply. Drawing its power from a battery there are
no spikes or surges. This increases the lifespan of many
appliances, computer screens (CRT), lights and other
sensitive electrical devices.
Safety
All Latronics® Inverters have an isolation rating of
3500V between AC and DC via the toroidal transformer,
which ensures extremely safe and risk free operation.
All the switching electronics and control circuitry are
on the DC input. The inverter AC output is connected
directly to the transformer output winding.
Latronics® Inverters have the AC output (active and
neutral) floating with respect to the DC and the earth.
The earth connection is connected to the case only. This
configuration provides the highest safety and the most
flexibility for installation wiring.
Features
Automatic
Reset When
the inverter is operating unattended it may be necessary
to ensure the continuity of supply. The Automatic Reset
feature (when enabled), will attempt to restart the
inverter every eight minutes should a fault condition
cause the inverter to shutdown. This feature can be
turned ON or OFF, depending on system requirements.
50/60Hz
The Inverter Output Frequency is switchable between 50Hz
and 60Hz.
Instantaneous
Undervolts To
protect your battery from excessive discharges, the
inverter will disconnect if the battery voltage falls
below 75% of the nominal battery voltage. When starting
a big load on a small battery, the inverter might shut
down in undervolts. To eliminate this, the instantaneous
undervolts can be disabled.
High Performance
Latronics® Inverters offer a high surge rating to
endure the starting of the most demanding appliances.
They also have a generous half hour rating to enable the
operation of larger loads for short periods.
Reliability
Innovative microprocessor monitoring ensures your
Inverter is fully protected against overload, AC short
circuit and overtemperature. High and low DC voltage
shutdowns offer further protection for your batteries,
allowing trouble free operation.
Autostart
Sophisticated sensing circuitry automatically switches
the inverter ON and OFF with applied appliances. The
Autostart is an important feature as it maximises
valuable battery capacity. Sensitivity of the Autostart
can be easily adjusted to either start small appliances
or run continuously.
Durable
Construction Latronics®
Inverters are a quality industrial product made to
withstand vibration and constant movement in mobile or
marine installations, as well as the diverse range of
home or commercial applications.
Corrosion
Conscious Design Latronics®
Inverters are built for extreme environments using a
recyclable powdercoated aluminium casing, a more noble
metal than steel.
Operation Modes
Latronics® Inverters mode of operation is continuously
displayed on the front panel
by the four LED indicators. On/Standby, Overtemp/Overload,
Overvolts and Undervolts.
Mounting Brackets
[Option]
In many mobile, marine, or industrial applications the
inverter may need to be fixed securely into position.
Ready made mounting brackets are available for wall
mount or 19" rack mount.
Warranty Latronics®
standalone inverters come with a three year warranty.
Options
Mounting Brackets Latronics
Inverters can be provided with mounting brackets. These
Brackets can be fitted at any time to all Inverters.
They are suitable for 19" rack mount, top mount, or
base mount (see bottom of page for images).
Earth Leakage Circuit
Breaker For
installations where Earth Leakage Protection is required
the Inverter can be fitted with a special Power Outlet
which includes a Residual Current Device (RCD).
Other AC Output and DC
Input Voltages As
an alternative to 240 V AC 50 Hz, the output can be 110
V AC 60 Hz, 110V AC 50 HZ or 220V AC 50HZ. DC Input
voltages are available in a range from 12V DC to 125V
DC.
Changing DC Input
Window For
systems with high battery voltage fluctuations, the DC
Input Window can be adjusted or increased to suit
requirements.
2kV Isolation 2kv
RMS for 1 minute – special industrial requirement.
Single GPO (European,
American, Japanese)
Refer to picture at right
for example.
Extended Battery
Leads Due
to the very high currents flowing any increase in length
will affect the efficiency of the Inverter. In
applications, like boats, where it might not be
practical to have the Inverter next to the batteries the
length should not exceed 3 meters. Although this option
is available it is not recommended.
Changeover Relay (extra
j-box included) When
fitted with this option the AC output is switched
between mains AC and Inverter AC. An auxiliary AC source
can be connected to the mains input junction box on the
rear of the inverter. While this AC source is present,
it will be connected to the AC output junction box on
the rear and the power outlet on the front. Should the
auxiliary AC source fail, the changeover switch
automatically diverts the Inverter's AC source to the AC
output junction box on the rear and power outlet on the
front.
Alarm Contact Output
(extra j-box included) The
alarm output is provided by a relay contact. Wiring is
via fixed terminals located in the junction box marked
"Alarm Output" on the rear of the inverter.
The relay contact changes state when the inverter's AC
output is not present.
